Is There An Alternative To COBRA?

Sometimes there is.

 

So you have been notified that you are eligible to continue your health coverage under your employers plan under the COBRA law.  If you are healthy and meet individual underwriting standards you may want to explore an individual program.  Individual programs are not guaranteed issue and may have pre-existing limitations.  Some benefits of an individual program (if eligible) instead of COBRA are:

  • You have a choice in plan design!
  • You don't have to take maternity coverage!
  • You can keep for as long as you pay the premium.  No 18 month limit!
